Legacy Basic API documentationCrunchbase no longer offers new Basic API keys. This page describes legacy Basic exports for existing key holders. See Crunchbase Basic for availability details. For a current API package or a newly provisioned key, follow API essentials and the reference for your provisioned package; do not apply these legacy paths to a new key.
For a CSV download, follow these steps:
Enter URL Into Your Browser. Once you’ve generated your API key, type the following URL address into your browser and replace "api_key" with the key from your account.
https://api.crunchbase.com/odm/v4/odm.tar.gz?user_key=api_key
For example, if your "api_key" is 1a2b3c4d5e6f7g8h9i0j, you would type:
https://api.crunchbase.com/odm/v4/odm.tar.gz?user_key=1a2b3c4d5e6f7g8h9i0j
Press Enter Key to Begin Download. Once the correct URL is in the address bar, press “Enter” (or "Return") and the download should begin automatically.
Decompress File. The file you download is a tar.gz file which needs to be "unpacked". On a Mac, just open the file and it will automatically expand. On Windows, you can use 7-zip to accomplish the same thing. Once expanded, you will find one file for Organizations and another for People.
